Severance Season 2 Trailer Is Loaded With Corporate Creepiness

Well, if you’re a fan of corporate overreach and feelings of impending doom, then life in 2024 is probably right up your alley.

And the first trailer for Severance Season 2 is keeping the creepy vibes going with more of the stark white hallways and fluorescent lighting that first gave us the heebie-jeebies back in 2022.

Yes, it’s been a long wait for more episodes — but few series reward patience as well as this one.

That said, if you were hoping for a ton of plot info from the latest Severance trailer … well, we’re afraid you’ll have to do a bit more waiting.

If you’re a fan of the series, then you probably recall its twister premise:

Mark Scout (Adam Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, a company whose employees have undergone a procedure that surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives.

Coming home every night unburdened by what has been (to borrow a phrase from a presidential candidate) might sound like a sweet deal.

But as is usually the case with sci-fi thrillers, progress comes with a catch. A big one.

As expected, the trailer finds Mark back at the office, still confused and distressed by the shady goings-on around him.

To the familiar strains of the Who’s “Eminence Front,” the beleaguered corporate drone races through one anonymous corridor after another, eventually encountering some familiar faces — or faces that should be familiar, anyway.

This show’s writers are masters of withholding information, so we shouldn’t be surprised that the trailer comes to a close just as Mark’s supervisor Milchik (Tramell Tillman) enters the scene with some very sinister-looking balloons.

That’s right, sinister balloons. And if that’s not enough to lure you into a second trip down the Severance rabbit hole then the return of the most talented cast on streaming will sweeten the deal.

Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette, are all returning, along with new series regular Sarah Bock.

“In season two, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe,” reads the official logline.

A path of woe has never sounded so intriguing! Severance Season 2 premieres on AppleTV+ on January 17, and in case you couldn’t tell — we can’t wait!

Over to you, TV fanatics! Are you as psyched as we are to head back to the office?
