One patent doesn’t prove Apple is making a device, but a whole series of them repeatedly applied for does suggest that we really could see a MacBook Pro you can wirelessly charge your iPhone on, while you sketch with your finger.
That’s still the case with the “Device having integrated interface system,” which was granted in June 2022 but Apple has now applied again for a patent. There’s no immediately obvious difference since the granted version, but companies can re-apply for many reasons, including correcting errors, however small they may be.
Then in this case, it isn’t just that Apple has once more reapplied for a patent it already has, it’s that this particular one has history. It’s got form.
