Ariana Madix guest starred on Will Trent as herself., hiring Det. Ormewood (Jake McLaughlin) because she needed help with an intervention for a friend, but things spiraled out of control.
While it was serious, humor was sprinkled in as Madix and Det. Ormewood spent time together and searched for her friend.
TV Fanatic recently chatted with Madix about her killer dancing and fighting moves from the episode and whether she’d return for more romantic scenes with Det. Ormewood.
We also has to discuss the popularity of Love Island USA Season 6 and why it resonated with viewers — ≠check out the interview below.
Hi Ariana. Your appearance on Will Trent was so fun. How did you like working with Jake McLaughlin?
I loved working with Jake. I had a blast with him, both on and off camera. Being on set with him, the director, incredible writers, and everybody created such a welcoming and warm atmosphere that we had a blast doing all those different things, and I absolutely loved it.
Yes, I did too. You both had some fantastic moves in that dance scene. I know you’ve been on Dancing with the Stars before. Did you happen to choreograph that number?
I did not choreograph it. A group of super-talented, extraordinary dancers rehearsed with us on a separate day to learn that dance ahead of time to ensure that we knew what we were doing and would look good. But they looked good doing it.
From the moment they learned that dance, they were so good that you’ll see them in the scene. The guy who taught us the dance in the bar is also one of the choreographers. All the dancers around us were professional dancers who were so good.

But it was fun to learn, and Jake kept saying he couldn’t dance. Five minutes into this rehearsal, we all realized, “No, you can dance. I don’t know why you’re saying that.”
I want a petition for him to be on Dancing with the Stars!
He should. I think he would be great.
He looked like he was having so much fun.
It was an entertaining scene. That was the last scene we did of our shoots, so I think it was fun to end on, and the music played super loud.
We laughed and joked, and it was such fun. I hope that when you watch it, how much fun we were all having translates.

Speaking of moves, you also had some fantastic judo and acrobatic moves as you cleared that building. Was that you, or did you have a stunt double?
I had a fantastic stunt double. Her name was Taylor. She was in wires, climbing the building, doing parkour, and doing acrobatics. But I did the stage combat moves in heels, which was exciting and fun.
I asked because she is a professional stuntwoman about details like noises in fight scenes. It’s not like I fight people very often in real life, if ever. I was unsure what kind of sounds to make.
She advised me that there are certain little grunts and things to do, so hopefully, it came across as if I was really fighting.
Oh, it did. Would you ever want to return since you and Detective Ormewood shared such a wonderful kiss at the end?
I would love to come back. I definitely think that the way that the storyline was left open at the end of Will Trent Season 3 Episode 8.

It felt like there was potential for a future and something else to happen with them. I would be open to that.
I think it would be fun to do. It’s a fun show to be on set; everybody I worked with was incredible. So, I would certainly love to work with all of them again.
That would be great. Before we end, I have one Love Island question. Did you ever envision Love Island USA Season 6 being so popular? Why do you think it resonated with viewers so much?
As a massive Love Island show fan, I always think it’s the biggest show of every year; whether or not that’s reflected in the numbers or anything else, I always think it’s the best. I couldn’t have predicted that the show would blow up like it did last season when we were in Fiji shooting.
We’ve heard all this feedback from the internet and our friends, and we saw the feedback in the ratings: It beat The Bear to become the number-one show on streaming.

We went out to dinner to celebrate that because we were excited about it. I couldn’t have anticipated it, but the cast resonated with the viewers. The cast was incredible last season. It’s a testament to how genuine the relationships are as they develop in that villa.
It’s great that the three top couples are still together. They all have fantastic relationships with each other, and their friendships are still going strong. Leah and Kaylor still hang out always; they’re best friends. This is real stuff, and seeing that makes me so happy.
It also makes me happy because I can tell people who haven’t watched the show that this is a testament to how accurate and fantastic this show is.
The cast is putting themselves out there, feeling all those big emotions, and letting it be known.
I always return to the moment with Serena and Kordell when they were traveling all over the villa and having this heated and intense conversation about their relationship.

At that moment, there is something so real and raw, including a glimpse into what it’s like going through these types of moments in an early relationship that’s developing.
I connected with all of them. Watching them, I connected with all of them. I felt like I was in the villa when we had little moments here and there, and I just loved seeing all of them doing so well.
I think it’s them that people are connected with.
We can’t wait to see you host Love Island Season 7 next. I know the fans will also enjoy your guest stint on Will Trent.
Will Trent airs at 8/7c on Tuesdays on ABC and Hulu the following day.
