If you need evidence that sometimes the biggest blessings can show up at our door disguised as curses, look no further than the life of Ariana Madix:
Last year, the Vanderpump Rules star caught her then-boyfriend Tom Sandoval cheating on her with one of her best friends.
But the resulting “Scandoval” turned out to be a major shot in the arm for Ariana’s career.
She’s now successfully made the difficult transition from reality star to legitimate actress, singer, and host.
Earlier this year, Madix starred in Chicago on Broadway. From there she landed gigs on Dancing With the Stars and Love Island USA.
Now, she’s reached a new stage of TV legitimacy with a role on ABC’s Will Trent.
According to a new report from Variety, Madix will play herself on a Season 3 episode of the beloved procedural.
But this is no mere celebrity cameo.
In the episode, Ariana will be paying a visit to Trent’s native Atlanta to host an intervention for a longtime friend.
She hires Det. Ormewood (Jake McLaughlin) to work security for the event — and we’re assuming things go awry and one of the guests leaves in a body bag.
No premiere date has been announced for Ariana’s turn on Will Trent, but since it has yet to film, we’re guessing it won’t be one of the first episodes.
If you’re one of the many fans who’s missing the presence of Atlanta’s most dapper detective this fall season, fear not.
Will Trent will return to ABC as a midsesason replacement. And after a strike-shortened second season, fans can expect a full slate of episodes.
In addition to Madix, the show will be adding Gina Rodriguez to its cast for Season 3.
We’re still a little miffed that we’re being forced to wait until midseason, but we’re mostly just grateful that this charmingly innovative series will soon be back on our screens.
