The approach of the holidays means fall finales and end-of-the-year network doldrums.
Thankfully, there’s still much for TV fanatics to look forward to (and we’re not just talking about Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer on NBC).
CBS just announced its full slate of midseason shows, and it’s looking like a hot winter is in store at the Eye Network.
First up is Watson, the highly anticipated new medical drama starring Morris Chestnut.
Chestnut will play a modern-day version of Sherlock Holmes’ physician sidekick.
Set to debut on Sunday, January 26, the series will kick off (no pun intended) immediately after the AFC Championship Game.
Beginning on February 16, the show will settle into its usual time slot of Sundays at 9 pm.
The following Tuesday, January 28, the FBI shows return on their usual night.
That Thursday sees the return of four popular series with Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, Ghosts, Matlock, Elsbeth all dropping their midseason premieres.
After that we have NCIS: Sydney Season 2 premiering on Friday, Jan. 31 at 8 pm. It’ll be joined by Fire Country at 9 pm and S.W.A.T., which will move to 10 pm.
Sadly, Tracker fans will have to wait until February 16 for more of Colter Shaw’s itinerant adventures. But better late than never, right?
As for special events, CBS is fully stocked.
From the Grammys to the Super Bowl to primetime Hollywood Squares with Drew Barrymore in the center of the board, the network is looking to capitalize on its momentum in 2025.
CBS was the most-watched broadcast network in 2023, and it’s expected to claim first place again at the end of this year.
Sure the loss of Blue Bloods (still a baffling cancelation) might put a crimp in their numbers next year, but for the most part CBS can do no wrong these days.
Over to you, TV fanatics!
Are you excited for CBS’ upcoming slate of new and returning shows?
Are you still a little bitter over that Blue Bloods cancelation?
