Days of Our Lives Spoilers For The Week of 12-23-24 Don’t Mention The Horton Christmas, But It Had Better Happen

Days of Our Lives had better have a proper Horton Christmas.

It’s a fan-favorite tradition that we need now more than ever, with Doug gone and John’s death likely to be in early 2025.

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 12-23-24 make Christmas sound like an ordinary, drama-filled day, and that’s not okay.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers For The Week of 12-23-24 Say Julie Will Confront Doug III on Christmas Day

Not only should the Horton family Christmas episode be about the family getting together, hanging ornaments, and celebrating one another, but it should also be a break from the usual drama.

In Days of Our Lives’ golden age, that’s how it always was. The Christmas episode left the audience with warm, fuzzy feelings as if they’d spent Christmas with their extended family.

That’s gradually shrunk, with Christmas often a regular day with an ornament hanging in the last five minutes.

The rushed Christmases of the past few years are unacceptable enough, but don’t tell me we’ll skip the ornament hanging (or the holiday) altogether this year!

I’m still grieving the loss of the Blue Bloods family dinners, so Days of Our Lives had better come through for me with a real Christmas episode.

Don’t get me wrong. If Julie confronts Doug III and ends this stupid storyline with her taking in a stranger just because he claims to be Doug’s grandson, that will be a Christmas miracle. But it should be combined with an actual Christmas celebration, especially with Jack. Jennifer and JJ all in town for once.

Will Leo Help Doug III?

Doug III gave Leo a sob story about how he only stole the necklace to pay off his debts, and now he feels bad because the Hortons have been so nice to him, which prompted Leo to take the necklace.

I’m hoping that Leo will double-cross Doug III.

He was with Steven the day that Steven was accused of the theft, and Steven’s final words to him were that he wanted to set him up with his son, Spencer.

That’s where Leo’s loyalties should lie, not with some random guy who knocks on his door with an expensive necklace and a sad backstory about why he “has no choice” but to steal and sell it.

(Side note: If Doug III’s grandfather was Doug Sr and there was no Doug Jr, he cannot be Doug III.)

Yet Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 12-23-24 say that Leo will do a favor for Doug III.

Interestingly, this will happen after Rafe turns Hattie over to Leo.

I’m not exactly sure how that’s supposed to work — Rafe is a private detective, not a cop, and Leo is a private citizen so wouldn’t that be kidnapping?

This nonsense happens in Salem, though. so I’ll go with it… for now.

In any case, I wonder whether what Hattie has to say affects Leo’s decisions regarding Doug III, so I’m curious about this set of spoilers.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers For The Week of 12-23-24 Promise There WILL Be A Celebration (But Not Necessarily Christmas)

Some people will be in the Christmas spirit, as Xander and Sarah are supposed to celebrate.

However, the bigger news appears that the Carver family is celebrating the twins’ birthday the day after Christmas.

(Holly’s birthday is Christmas Eve, so that should be celebrated too — hopefully not by her getting drunk this time.)

Paulina, Abe, and possibly Chanel will join Lani and Eli for a celebration. These should at least give us some fun family scenes, but hopefully, it will be a second celebration after Christmas.

Drama tends to happen at Salem parties, but I don’t know who would crash this one. There have been persistent rumors that Whitley will show back up, but I hope that’s not what’ll happen here.

That is one character we don’t need again, especially not if she’s messing with Abe and his family some more.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers For The Week of 12-23-24 Promise Non-Christmas Drama With Tate And Holly

Holly will inadvertently mess up Tate and Sophia’s plan to go get an abortion in another state, or whatever it is they decide to do about the baby.

I love that Days of Our Lives is addressing the mess over reproductive rights being sent back to the states (and the issue of parental consent for pregnant teenagers in some states), though I hope this story will be treated seriously.

It’s about time the show returned to being the groundbreaking, progressive show it once was.

That said, Tate deciding not to tell Holly what is happening is stupid.

He knows that Holly and Sophia still have a rivalry and that he and Holly got back together after Holly’s lies and manipulations about getting dirt on Brady drove them apart.

What will his keeping this major secret accomplish other than Tate being so hypocritical that he and Holly end up breaking up again?

Ava And Brady Face A New Threat

I’m not a fan of Ava and Brady as a couple. I wish Brady would stop going for people who once dated his father, wreaked havoc with the rest of Salem, and don’t mind getting violent if they don’t get what they want.

The person threatening them is probably Kristen, so the one saving grace is that Ava is not about to be intimidated by her.

Kristen used to remind me of Yellowstone‘s Beth Dutton, but lately, she’s been weak and whiny, so I’m rooting for Ava to get the better of her.

If Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 12-23-24 have to include Ava and Brady being threatened, I hope it ends with Kristen being put in her place for once and all.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers For The Week of 12-23-24 Say EJ Will Have An Unwanted Houseguest

EJ has been nothing but aggravating lately, so I like the idea of him being forced to entertain someone he does not want there.

Double points if it’s Joy, who he tried to force out of Salem (though I would fear for her safety if she were stuck living with him.)

I hope this won’t be silly or meaningless, like Susan returning for another visit and annoying her son.

However, this could also be set up for the “who shot EJ” story that’s supposed to be coming up in 2025, which should be good.

Happy News Ahead: Rafe and Jada Set A Date For Their Wedding

I’m not sold on Rafe and Jada as a couple, mostly because Rafe has had a million wives, and I’m still bitter that Days of Our Lives blew up Rafe and Nicole for no reason whatsoever.

However, this could be happy news IF their wedding results in an actual marriage, and they stay together. With new writers’ material set to air starting in April, that could happen!

For now, they have finally set a date, which should bring some congratulatory scenes with Javi and Gabi. I miss our Horton family, but I’ll take some Hernandez family time, especially around the holidays.

Unsurprisingly, JJ and Gabi Grow Closer

I’m thrilled that JJ’s back in town, but I’m not sure about him and Gabi trying again yet.

Unsurprisingly, Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 12-23-24 promise they will take a step in that direction.

It’s hard for me to forgive her for calling that dubious encounter with Lani “blackout sex,” as if black-out drunk people can consent to anything. Plus, she JUST got divorced, and I don’t like this trope where people jump into a new relationship seconds after epic heartbreak.

However, the writing has been on the wall for this relationship for a while. Julie hating the idea and Gabi denying she has feelings for JJ set it up, so it’s only a matter of time before they are back together.
