Fiat isn’t exactly a household name in America, but the brand is celebrating a milestone 125th anniversary with a new Giorgio Armani Edition 500e. The tiny EV gets a pair of exclusive color choices and other unique design elements, and a funky but upscale interior.
Fiat has a reasonably long history with designer-inspired special-edition vehicles. It released a Gucci edition 500 back in 2011, and we’ve seen other collaborations with Armani, Bulgari, and more. The brand describes the new special edition, saying, “The 500e Giorgio Armani is designed as a car to be worn, not driven.”
Though it sports a unique look, the Armani 500e is no different from the standard car underneath. It has an electric motor offering 117 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, and it’s rated at 149 miles of range.
Fiat offers two exclusive colors, including Dark Green Micinalized and Ceramic Greige – a blend of gray and beige. The car also rides on 17-inch wheels with the Armani GA logo. The interior has synthetic leather upholstery, a wood-trimmed dash, and a custom-composed audio alert for vehicle safety systems.
A 10.3-inch touchscreen comes standard, along with a JBL stereo, Bluetooth, smartphone mirroring, and more. The car has a Level 2 driver assistance system and several other advanced safety systems.
We don’t have pricing details for the new car yet, but Fiat said more information will become available closer to the launch. The 500e will be built at the brand’s Turin plant in Italy.
