GMC Offers a Lower Price and Increased Range for the 2025 Sierra EV

The GMC Sierra EV has only been on sale for a short time, but it’s getting a notable change as it heads into the 2025 model year. GMC recently said that the 2025 model year truck will come in two versions with up to 460 miles of range, and the automaker gave the truck a slightly lower price.

The base 2025 GMC Sierra EV offers 390 miles of range, while the Max Range model delivers up to 460 miles, though it’s worth noting those are GM’s estimates, not the EPA’s. That’s a 20-mile improvement over the 2024 Edition 1 models, though the cheaper base model makes a stronger case.

The Sierra EV starts at $91,995, several thousand dollars less than the Edition 1’s $97,500 starting price. The top Max Range model will start at $100,495 after destination, slightly higher than the outgoing range-topping trim, but likely worth it for some buyers, given the additional range over last year’s truck.

With a base price over $90,000, it’s hard to celebrate the Sierra EV too hard, but it kind of makes sense, taken in context with the Chevy Silverado EV. That truck gets an entry-level Work Truck trim, and while it’s also available in a maxed-out, high-price flagship variant, the more basic trims offer a lower price and still-strong specs. If you want more luxury, spring for the GMC, but both trucks easily surpass $100,000 with a few options and accessories.
