Oh, Hallmark, you have my attention again!
There’s nothing like escaping into some cheesy, sweet, romantic films on a brisk day, curled up on the couch with a hot beverage, blanket, and some Hallmark Hunks and beautiful ladies.
I’m a Lifetime girl, through and through, but I’m also a closet romantic who sometimes needs a break from Ripped from the Headlines thrillers.
Hallmark always delivers, and they do that the most around the holidays. Their Countdown to Christmas lineup is one of the highlights of my holiday season.
I can’t properly put up my decorations without pumpkin-scented candles burning and Hallmark Christmas movies playing in the distance. It’s a tradition.
So I was elated when beloved player Damar Hamlin announced the Buffalo Bills would team up with Hallmark (a Hallmark Media and Skydance Sports collaboration) for the second NFL/Hallmark film, Holiday Touchdown: A Bill’s Love Story.
I mean, it was a happy coincidence that I happened to be donning the Buffalo Bills shirt pictured above upon learning this.
It combines some of my favorite things: Hallmark romance movies, my great city, and the Buffalo Bills.
If you don’t recall, Hallmark initially debuted the Hallmark/NFL collaboration film with Holiday Touchdown: A Chief’s Love Story.
I heard it was good, but I didn’t watch it because we’re not big Chiefs fans around here. Hey, I’m just being honest! Fandom devotion runs deep!
However, the first film successfully garnered 2.8 million views in the ratings. Its appeal was loosely inspired by the intrigue of the Chiefs’ love story between golden boy Travis Kelce and global sensation and pop darling Taylor Swift.
“The incredible success of last year’s partnership with the NFL and the Kansas City Chiefs far
exceeded our expectations,” said Darren Abbott, Chief Brand Officer, Hallmark.

“We are thrilled to team up with the Bills this year for a new holiday movie filled with heart, family, and the classic Hallmark storytelling that our fans know and love, all set against the special community the Bills franchise has nurtured throughout its storied history.”
“We were honored to be approached by Skydance Sports to participate in this amazing project that
will showcase two powerful brands – Hallmark and the Buffalo Bills,” said Pete Guelli, Chief
Operating Officer, Buffalo Bills.
“This is just another example of how the Bills brand and our amazing fan base continues to grow across the sports and entertainment landscape. This is an incredible opportunity to feature Western New York and Bills Mafia on the Hallmark platform. It is a privilege to be part of this project, and we hope this film will be a hit during the holiday season!”
If the Bills are next in the lineup for a love story, it’s probably because of the great and endearing love story between our very own MVP, Josh Allen, and actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld.

Our quarterback not only scored a few touchdowns, but an engagement, too, but that’s neither here nor there. Ahem.
But I cannot think of anything better than tuning into a love story centered around your favorite NFL team on Saturday night and then tuning into one of their games on Football Sunday, can you?
It’s a match made in heaven, and everyone wins!
What’s exciting about this film is the prospect of what it’ll feature and who it’ll involve. Buffalo, NY, is a great city—an All-American one. It’s “The City of Good Neighbors” and is infamous for its chicken wings and snow.
Sure, we’re known for many other things. For one, we have so much heart.

But we’re also known for the unwavering devotion of the Bills Mafia. We’re among the loudest, raucous, most loyal, devout fandom in the entire NFL league.
No one tailgates like us. Yes, we really do break tables. We recite the Bills Shout song damn near like the Pledge of Allegiance, and there isn’t a single day that goes by where you don’t get to say “Go Bills!” It’s right up there with saying “Bless you” when someone sneezes.
Seriously, there is no off-season for us; it’s all Bills devotion, all the damn time!
We practically bleed Bills colors, and happening across one of our favorite players at the neighborhood Wegmans is just a natural part of life.
They practically hand you Bills swag when you exit the womb here. If you think I’m exaggerating, I present you with my niblings …

Hopefully, this upcoming film will embody all of that.
For as excited as I am over which players may cameo in it (Josh Allen would be the be all end all, Damar Hamlin is our miracle player who holds a special place in all of our hearts, and Keon Coleman is one of the purest, precious of the bunch).
If you give that man chocolate chip cookies from Weggies and a cameo, he’ll steal everyone’s hearts.
It’s far from the first time in recent years Buffalo hosted a film. We’ve had Luke MacFarlane here for his romantic comedy Bros. Jim Carey had a blast filming Bruce Almighty.
Some of our more rural areas were great for The Quiet Place Part III, and TMNT: Out of the Shadows was a particularly fun film (when it wasn’t shutting down traffic on the Kensington Expressway).
And between you, me, and all of his fans, Mario Lopez is already getting a headstart on filming another Christmas movie right now. Naturally, there was no need for fake snow; we greeted him with it, Spring be damned.

But this holiday film has the chance to highlight some of Buffalo’s best and greatest aspects: its wonderful culture, scenic locations, strong community, and, of course, the diehard Bills Mafia.
And if you know anything about us, we’re purely entertaining, make our love known, and won’t let this great city or our team down! Hopefully, Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story won’t either!
Filming will start soon. Chances are, we can anticipate seeing some action around the summer, and we know that they’ll actually do some filming at the iconic Highmark Stadium, which is exciting.
So, come November, which is likely when this film will air, you may just find me curled up in a Bills jersey, Zubaz leggings, wings with bleu cheese (just say NO to ranch), and some local hard cider watching. Hey, maybe I’ll review this one for you, too!
