Mayfair Witches Season 2 Episode 6 Spoilers: A Trap Awaits Rowan and Lark in Scotland

Mayfair Witches Season 2 started with a whimper, but whatever magic the creatives are whipping up is beginning to take shape.

Mayfair Witches Season 2 Episode 5 left us wanting more because it was a solid show of what the second entry in the Immortal Universe could offer.

Rowan reached a turning point when she decided against taking Lark’s memories away, and her former love could be a crucial element of the narrative in the future.

It’s been hard to support many of Rowan’s actions thus far. Thankfully, she’s finally coming into her own as she wrestles with what’s best for Lasher, the villainous being who has haunted the Mayfair family for generations.

On Mayfair Witches Season 2 Episode 4, she thought she could murder him, but the most significant consequence is losing the magical abilities he’s given her.

Her dilemma was also elevated by the fact that she gave Lasher his human form, but what will she do when she crosses paths with him again?

Ian’s Reign of Terror is Just Beginning

Of course, a part of her wants his powers subdued so that he won’t be able to harm her family and any other innocent parties.

But now that Ian has been introduced, he could use Lasher for something more nefarious than anyone could have anticipated.

Ian made his presence felt by murdering Albrecht after the Talamasca honcho brought Lasher across the Atlantic to him.

What a way to say thanks, right? Ian set himself up as the next big villain, and the series did a decent job of quickly underpinning such a new character.

While AMC keeps plot details relatively quiet, the official teaser for the next installment showcases many simultaneous events.

Now that Rowan knows where Lasher is, she makes her way to Scotland, determined to find him, but Ian seems to have a wealth of bodyguards who will stop at nothing to keep Lasher safe.

We see Lasher in Kilbride, still donning the outfit Ian gave him as they prepare for what I can only imagine will be some form of sacrifice.

Ian strikes me as the kind of person thinking several steps ahead. He’s had years to plan for when Lasher has a human vessel, and he won’t let anyone mess up his plans.

Lasher Will Probably Murder Lark

Lasher is still drawn to Rowan, which could complicate matters. But Ian could do a few things to turn Lasher against the witch for good.

  • I’m Embarrassed to Admit It, but I Fall Prey to Shipping Culture
  • Two Seasons into Younger, Liza is Ruining My Liza/Josh Shipping
  • The Rookie Has a Nolan Problem, And It’s Testing My Patience

Rowan still thinks she can outmaneuver the people who oppose her, but Mayfair Witches Season 2 has proven that she makes the worst decisions.

Taking Lark to Scotland is a recipe for disaster. His presence is a surefire way to get Lasher jealous and to take action.

Then again, maybe Lark will say, “I left you once before; I’m not doing it again,” because he did leave Rowan high and dry just a few years before.

I’m also concerned that he could be a villain because how easily did he digest that she’s a witch and that mystical forces are trying to wipe out her family?

I want to hope that Lark is one of the good guys. Ben Feldman is an excellent addition to the series, but something tells me he won’t stand the test of time.

One of the best aspects of the sophomore season is how Sip’s storyline has become independent of Rowan. The series put too much stock in their romance last season, and it wasn’t believable.

Mayfair Witches Is Introducing More About the Talamasca

The upside of Sip’s storyline is that he’ll be in the Netherlands when we finally pick back up with him on Mayfair Witches Season 2 Episode 6.

He’s been so devoted to the Talamasca and everything they stand for that he never stopped to think about the bigger picture. Well, Sip, you’re about to meet that bigger picture.

With The Talamasca coming up on AMC later this year, the network is using Mayfair Witches as the show to kickstart the storyline.

(Skip Bolen/AMC)

The sad part of that is it seems Mayfair Witches Season 2 is barreling toward a finish line at a breakneck pace. Many of the storylines from Anne Rice’s book series haven’t been adapted, but it still feels like we’re getting a series finale sooner rather than later.

Where else can the show go after the Ian-Lasher team-up in Scotland? All we can do is tune in when new episodes of Mayfair Witches air on Sundays at 9/8c on AMC.

Over to you, Mayfair Witches Fanatics! What’s your take on the adaptation? Is it moving too quickly? What are your thoughts on the teaser?
