Night Court Exclusive Sneak Peek: Mo Collins Arrives With a Magical Gift

NBC’s Night Court has had some impressive guest stars throughout its three seasons.

Night Court Season 3 Episode 11 is about to up the ante with Mo Collins (Fear the Walking Dead, Parks and Recreation).

The proven comedy actress is set to play Starla, Harry’s old magician’s assistant.

TV Fanatic scored an exclusive first look at the episode, and you can cut the tension with a knife.

Starla shows up at Abby’s office with a magical box that she brought to remind the judge of her late father.

Unfortunately for Starla, it seems Abby isn’t interested in anything magical, perhaps because it reminds her of her father.

We’ll need to tune in, but Abby does make a bold declaration about Starla, revealing that she doesn’t like her at the end of the clip.

Abby and Starla Come to Blows on Night Court

Obviously, Abby and Starla’s personalities clash, and Mo and Melissa Rauch have a fantastic time playing this dynamic.

The big question is whether the two women will be able to find some common ground by the end of the episode.

Abby has been a bit of a tougher nut to crack than her father, which has elevated this sequel to the hit original.

Sadly, we don’t have the rest of the episode, so we’ll have to watch this one as it plays out on-screen to find out where things end up for Starla and Abby.

That said, we’re inclined to believe they’ll exchange zingers for the entirety of the episode if this clip is any indication.

Night Court is currently awaiting word on a fourth season at NBC.

The broadcast network has already issued renewals for freshman comedies Happy’s Place and St. Denis Medical, which doesn’t instill much hope for the veteran Night Court.

However, there’s a case to be made for NBC to keep Night Court around because it could perform in another time slot.

Night Court’s deep ties to the original series has proven to be a nostalgic trip for viewers, but the update has managed to set itself apart.

While we’d like to think that it would get a pre-planned series finale, there’s no telling what will happen because execs are getting tougher amid a struggling ad market.

What are your thoughts on the clip? Are you excited to see Mo and Melissa on-screen together?
