Over 1,000 firms bid for 2017 railway projects

    Over 1000 firms expressed curiosity in 17 classes of initiatives for the 2017 capital initiatives of the Nigerian Railway Company (NRC).

    The Managing Director of the NRC, Engr. Fidet Okhiria disclosed this on Tuesday whereas declaring open the method for the opening of bids for the initiatives.

    The formal opening of bids held on the company headquarters of the NRC in Lagos had representatives of companies who’ve bided for one contract or the opposite in attendance.

    The MD represented by the Director of Operations, Mr. Niyi Ali stated the open bidding was aimed toward getting the perfect companies to hold out the initiatives lined up for implementation within the 2017 fiscal 12 months.

    He assured the businesses that the NRC can be truthful, clear and neutral within the bidding course of which explains why they’ve made the method open according to the Procurement Act of 2004.

    The initiatives embody the Procurement of Instruments, Tools and Supplies for emergency repairs and upkeep of Tracks; Renovation/Improve of Railway Stations and different buildings along with related amenities (nationwide).

    Procurement of Locomotives, Coaches, Wagons, Railway Inspection Automobiles and Cranes (Slender Gauge and/or Customary Gauge); Procurement/Rehabilitation and Set up of kit for Mechanical/Electrical, Safety, Printing, Operations, Civil and ICT amenities; Era of Various Income for the Company, Insurance coverage Providers, amongst others.
