Thanks to aggressive incentives, the Honda Prologue is one of the hottest deals in the EV world, but the automaker isn’t done throwing money at potential buyers. Honda recently added a sweet financing deal and thousands off the SUV’s sticker price, which could push sales even higher.
Prologue buyers can get zero-percent financing for the first time, with terms of up to 72 months. Over time, that could add up to thousands in savings. Honda’s also offering up to $5,000 in dealer cash, which can be combined with the zero-percent offer, and buyers can still get the $7,500 tax credit. The Prologue is built in Mexico at a GM factory, qualifying it for the federal benefit. Buyers in some states can get another $1,000 in dealer cash, making the Prologue up to $6,000 cheaper.
The Honda was a great deal before this development, as the automaker was offering leases of around $229 per month. Those discounts helped the Prologue become one of the most popular leased EVs in the third quarter, behind the Tesla Model 3 and Y, and the Hyundai Ioniq 5. It was also the fifth best-selling EV in the country.
The Prologue offers decent range, at up to 296 miles for the base EV FWD trim, and the top Elite with AWD manages 273 miles. While the interior is practically identical to a GM product, there’s enough Honda baked in to make a difference.
