The Rookie Season 7 Episode 4 Spoilers: A Serial Killer Hunt, Shady Seth & Return of The Rookie Barbi

The Rookie Season 7 has already been quite a ride with new rookies, two of the series’ biggest villains on the loose, and Chenford’s bizarre reset.

But The Rookie Season 7 Episode 4 teases some returns, including Wesley heading back to the DA’s office, Lucy’s gut suspicions regarding Seth, Bailey coming back, and my testy patience over the latter.

Hey, just because The Rookie Barbie is more tolerable now, it doesn’t mean she’s not still annoying. There, I said it.

Bailey is Back, But Also Not Really

By the end of The Rookie Season 7 Episode 2, Bailey arrived home to the newly decked-out security that Nolan couldn’t figure out how to work for anything in the world.

Nolan was eager to have his wife back, and I guess we love that for him. However, it doesn’t change that Jason is still in the wind and likely plotting.

We saw how recklessly Nolan behaved when it was trying to get a lead on where Jason was and hoped to take him down before Bailey got back.

He made a mess of things, and it was the sour note of an otherwise solid and entertaining episode.

But now, because he stirred the pot again to entrap Jason, he may have put Bailey in more danger, which is why the promo teases that she isn’t at Casa de Nolan.

In the interim, Bailey has to stash herself away somewhere undisclosed, and Nolan doesn’t want her to return until he knows she’s safe.

For reasons I’m unsure of, rumors and speculation suggest that Bailey is at Lucy and Celina’s apartment. I cannot envision this.

Saint Lucy takes in more strays than the neighborhood cat lady, and as far as we know, in addition to living with Celina, her ex-boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend is sleeping on her couch.

I can’t imagine her having any more room for another person, but the series also likes to insert Bailey in random places like a square peg in a round hole, and it could result in some fun “girls’ night” moments if that’s something they intend to do.

But it’s also possible Bailey is chilling in a hotel somewhere. We’ll have to see.

Lucy Has Her Hands Full with Seth

Seth’s sweet, nerdy demeanor and the allure of the fun buddy cop he has with Miles may blind some of us. And by “some of us,” I’m not afraid to admit it’s myself, too.

However, many of you have noted that Seth is a suspicious character. He makes some pretty big screwups, which isn’t that out of the norm for a new rookie.

However, he has a bad or sad story or excuse to justify everything. Notably, the reason for freezing up at the scene of an incident during The Rookie Season 7 Episode 1 was that his ex-girlfriend from high school died from an overdose in front of him.

His reason for arriving late to roll call was due to a doctor’s appointment where he was getting checked out to see if he was no longer in remission from cancer he had some time ago.

If Lucy has some suspicions during this episode, it may be a result of him having another story to justify a screwup while in the field. However, he could have his health results back and withhold them despite their importance in whether or not he should still be in the field.

However, this is also The Rookie. They may out something else entirely.

Wesley Returns to the D.A. Office, But the Past Haunts Him

Wesley had the grueling task of listening to all the therapy sessions with Blair’s clients, and he’s been in his feelings about Graham having the hots for Angela.

Fortunately, they’re moving on from this storyline or giving us a reprieve as Wesley returns to work at the DA’s office.

It seems like they’re welcoming him with open arms again, but it’s not long before his past somehow connects to the police’s current investigation, and he’ll likely have to offer his assistance in some way.

Given the nature of the case that the team is working on, it may have something to do with someone Wesley had defended in his past life before he shifted to the district attorney’s office.

Is the Team Tracking Down the Next Ted Bundy?

It’s a hit-the-ground running serial killer case that will be at the forefront of the hour.

We can expect all the action that The Rookie handles so well and a case with all the characters on deck.

What’s most exciting is that Lopez and Harper may be at the forefront of the investigation as they find a tied-up woman in the trunk of the car and go after a serial killer who is probably channeling the likes of Ted Bundy, according to Angela.

It’s a big case for the rookies to contribute, and you can tell from the promo that they’re living for all the action and excitement.

A serial killer case is the exact time of drama that will make for a great episode of The Rookie.

What do you guys think?

Do you have any theories about Seth?

Are you excited about this case?
