We knew it was coming but didn’t think it would take this long for official confirmation.
Paramount+ handed out a renewal on Tuesday for Tulsa King Season 3.
The pickup comes five months after Tulsa King Season 2’s thrilling conclusion, which left us with more questions than answers.
The renewal comes with an interesting announcement:
Tulsa King Season 3 is already in production.

It sounds like a deal was reached a while ago if filming is already underway, but it’s hard to tell why it was kept so under wraps.
We were concerned that the looming Paramount-Skydance merger could lead to some stunning cancellations on the streaming side of things.
Tulsa King Renewal Was in Doubt
CBS already axed Blue Bloods, FBI: International, FBI: Most Wanted, and S.W.A.T., indicating that even some of the most well-watched shows may not be safe for additional seasons.
This kind of deal can harm some of the most popular networks.

Look at how the Nexstar deal led to The CW purging all its genre fare and soapy dramas.
Granted, none of those shows turned a profit with their on-air results, but they were valuable assets in streaming deals.
My point is that the unthinkable can happen when viewers least expect it.
Still, Tulsa King appears to be one of the most successful shows on Paramount+ worldwide, so its pickup for another season was a foregone conclusion.

The streaming platform confirmed Tuesday that Tulsa King Season 2 Episode 1 managed 21.1 global streaming viewers and set a record for the most watched global premiere at the time.
There’s no denying that the show has a big audience.
Staying in Business With Sylvester Stallone is a Good Idea
That’s thanks to Sylvester’s star power.
A-list movie stars joining prestige TV series has become the norm in recent years to entice more viewers, but is there any bigger than Sylvester?

He’s been at the top of his game for decades, and his performance on Tulsa King is some of his finest work.
While a premiere date has not been determined, there’s every reason to believe that new episodes could air later this year.
Paramount+ has an excellent track record of making its shows available shortly after production is completed.
Criminal Minds and School Spirits are two examples. Still, the only thing that could prevent a 2025 premiere is if executive producer Taylor Sheridan has a wealth of other upcoming series.

It’s become imperative to spread out big-budget surefire hits so that they have enough time for promotion and don’t get lost in the shuffle of other series.
Taylor has multiple Yellowstone spinoffs coming up, as well as a new season of Landman and Mayor of Kingstown.
The fate of Special Ops: Lioness and Lawmen have not been determined, but both are expected to return in some capacity since they broke through with their most recent seasons.
The former blossomed into one of the best dramas of 2024 with its sophomore season, proving that even the most average of series can get a second life with some fine-tuning.
